Life can be full of difficulties and often we don’t really know how we’re going to cope – things can seem senseless and random and this leaves us feeling helpless and alone.
But as human beings we have tremendous powers of resilience when we can find some meaning in what we’re going through.
As a counsellor I believe that by speaking about difficult things we can gradually make sense of them. This makes them more bearable and can help to turn our struggles into a source of strength and meaning in our lives.
✦Sometimes life can seem confusing and hard to make sense of
✦Sometimes the past seems to hold us back and stop us fulfilling our potential
✦Sometimes we are overwhelmed with painful feelings without really knowing what they are or where they come from
✦Sometimes our relationships with others become difficult but it’s hard to see what’s gone wrong
Working from central Bristol, I provide counselling and psychotherapy both short and longer-term for a wide range of issues.
On our own we can get stuck into reliving these experiences and feelings but without anything changing. Talking to someone who is trained and experienced in listening can help to see things from a different point of view and enable things to shift, sometimes very gradually, sometimes quite suddenly.
A trained counsellor can provide an impartial, non-judgmental space where you can explore experiences and feelings and where it’s safe to say things that could never be said before, but will also understand that sometimes it can be difficult to talk about things and that each of us has to go at our own pace.
